The Mystery of the Italics in The Girl Who Drank the Moon!

Who is the italics monster?!

I'm glad you could all join us today to investigate the so-called italics from the novel, The Girl Who Drank the Moon! As we've all seen we have had multiple italics seen on different chapters of the book and it's my job to figure out which one of you is the verdict! I'm going to interrogate all of you to figure it out. With me today, we have the different citizens of the protectorate, Antain, Grand Elder Gherland, Sister Ignatia. I'm not going to rest or leave this investigation till I figure out who is spreading the italics around. I believe there is more than one of you apart of these italicized chapters. There are many voices going into this not just one. Now, all of you follow me into this dark narrow hallway and into the back room. Now was it you! Did you add those italics and stories about the witch? The citizens all at once "The witch is evil, the witch eats people! Be careful of the witch!" Antain, "Oh come enough with the lies about the witch! You've never even seen a witch before." Grand Elder Gherland "The witch is real Antain, we need to finish Elder-in-training now." Sister Ignatia sits there in silence and doesn't acknowledge anything. Out of nowhere, the author Kelly Barnhill pops in! "I can't listen to this anymore" she laughs. I send out all the individuals who came to the investigation in the hallway and talked with Mrs. Barnhill herself. "What do you think?" Kelly Barnhill asks, "Who is the corporate?". My thoughts go as followed I believe it's more than just one speaker in the italicized chapters. I can't pick and choose who but I know you wanted to include and have many voices heard in your story and I do believe that to be true with the italics in the chapters themselves. Clues that lead me to this conclusion are the fact that you include many characters in the book and you let their voices be heard. I believe you went with this approach to teach another life lesson from your book as there is always more than one side to the story. Things get twisted and heard wrong and is passed from person to person differently. Everyone adds different bits and pieces to the puzzle and the story that it wouldn't be right to have just one side of the story. "I think you just figured out the italics investigation by yourself" Kelly Barnhill mentions. I walk out to the waiting room, "You're all free to go, sorry for using your time, I figured it out." They all get up and leave and the case is now closed and the mystery is solved.
The case of the italics investigation is now solved! Please respect those individuals who were involved in this investigation.
