It Better Be in Black or White or Else!

"Watch your back as you may never know what may be behind you or in front of you" I've been told multiple times by my dad, he's a funny individual, always knows how to make you laugh. You never might know what may be lurking in the shadows. While reading The Graveyard book,  that's how I felt, you never knew what was going to happen and you never knew where it was going to come from. That's the fun of reading and watching scary movies in my opinion. I am always watching movies in my free time and most of the time they are scary! Call me a freak, call me insane but I find it so enjoyable.  What's not to like about watching movies! Fun fact did you know they were going to make a movie through Pixar for this book; however, it was shut down, I want a movie! If they were to ever create a movie I would hope for it to be and black and white as I feel it's fitting for the storyline and plot. It adds more of a dramatic and scary effect. With this said, I woul...

The Mystery of the Italics in The Girl Who Drank the Moon!

Image
Who is the italics monster?!  I'm glad you could all join us today to investigate the so-called italics from the novel, The Girl Who Drank the Moon! As we've all seen we have had multiple italics seen on different chapters of the book and it's my job to figure out which one of you is the verdict! I'm going to interrogate all of you to figure it out. With me today, we have the different citizens of the protectorate, Antain, Grand Elder Gherland, Sister Ignatia. I'm not going to rest or leave this investigation till I figure out who is spreading the italics around. I believe there is more than one of you apart of these italicized chapters. There are many voices going into this not just one. Now, all of you follow me into this dark narrow hallway and into the back room. Now was it you! Did you add those italics and stories about the witch? The citizens all at once "The witch is evil, the witch eats people! Be careful of the witch!" Antain, "Oh come eno...

Dear Kelly Barnhill

Image
Dear Kelly Barnhill,     I found it truly touching how you got inspired by something as simple as vacation and your own life experiences when writing this book. I wish I could get inspired like that; however, I don't know where I would even begin? What goes into writing a story? Do you think of many events in your life and connect them to the characters?   Jumping into the book, I  was hooked from the very beginning. "Look a the woods! So dangerous!... It was the Witch, and if we don't do as she says, what will become of us?... the Witch would have killed us all, and then where would be? Sacrifice one or sacrifice all" (Barnhill 1). I instantly felt addicted and wanted to read on, I couldn't stop. It's hard sometimes to get into a book if it starts off slow but you jumped right into the story and the day of the Sacrifice which myself as a reader enjoys. In your book, you include a lot of fine details and I feel I can picture myself in the scene of the book. ...
